TV Quotes

My second to last entry in the "You're Having A Laugh" circle journal on UKScrappers, the theme being quotes from the big or little screen. I chose the series of my twenties... Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For me at the time there was nothing more epic than the Buffy and Angel love story and so I chose one of many quotes which will be well-known to fans everywhere...

The Octopode characters reminded me of Buffy and Angel. In the episode, Fear Itself, the gang go to a Halloween party and Buffy dresses as Little Red Riding Hood and looks just like the vampire girl (whose fangs I removed using Craft Artist) and the dark haired vampire boy could be a whimsical Angel

The background is Dylusions inks, various stencils and stamps and a border added with Faber-Castell black and gold Pitt pens. The moon is from the Night Garden digikit made transparent with the Buffy logo over the top. The writing was done with black, blue and metallic black pens for Angel to represent darkness and white and pink gellyrolls for Buffy to represent the light.

Decorated Jigsaw

A swap for the lovely Secret Swapper group on UKScrappers, a very select group of loony ladies :o) This is an altered jigsaw, a Bo Bunny jigsaw that is now very hard to get hold of but I picked one up ages ago at a craft fayre and didn't know what to do with it except stroke it every now and then and put it back in the drawer I had at the time labelled, "Super Beautiful Things".

Thankfully the lovely Karen had other ideas... 9 of us to a group (there's 9 pieces per jigsaw) and we each pick a theme... we decorate each piece according to the themes and end up with 9 pieces on our theme... sound complicated? It is but fortunately Karen knows what she's doing :oD

Unfortunately someone dropped out of my group so there's only 8 pieces decorated. Here they are:

So this will officially complete all my swaps with Secret Swappers which I think must be a record ladies and means I'm on the prowl for more swap ideas :o)

Travel Cards

The lovely Magali has taken over the UKS Card Swap and set a great theme this month - travel - something I LOVE to do! So here's my cards:

The main image is something I bought from Etsy and I created the sentiment on Craft Artist. The background are from Tim Holtz Destinations papers with distress inks around the edges to match the colours of each card. I matted each sentiment and image/quote on matching mirrorboard.

Some art journaling....

Decided to theme my new mini Dylusions journal as "Today I Feel" to help process my feelings good and bad. Thought I'd share my first entry:

I'm sure anyone else with ME will relate to this feeling :)

I also recently finished my August Calendar page! Didn't think I'd make it this far with these but here we are. I've blurred the writing just cos I've used a couple of names not in a negative way I might add but it's still private :)

I've also noticed this on my blogger list and decided to have a go. So here's my Week 1 photo a self portrait eek haha!

Let's see if I keep this up!

Fat Books

Another swap for UKS this time Fat Books - fat refers to the opposite of flat - so we make ten 4x4 pages and make sure that they are embellished making them bulky and fat. For some reason I decided to do ten different ones so I sprayed some A3 card for the backgrounds, cut the pages and off I went. Here's one of the background pages before it was cut:

And here's the ten pages in no particular order:

So now I'm just hoping they are "fat" enough :o)
